The Merlion is the official mascot of Singapore. It is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish. The lion head represents Singapore’s former name, Singapura, which means ‘lion city’. Furthermore, the fish body represents Singapore as being a fishing village originally. The Merlion is represented all throughout the city as seen in various statues all around Singapore, but perhaps the one most visited by tourists is the Merlion Park in Marina Bay. This Merlion statue has water coming out of its mouth. It finally got its Funko Pop treatment not once, but three times! The first one was an all-white Funko Pop, the second was rainbow-colored, and the third one is also white but with water coming out of its mouth. Unfortunately, we don’t have the rainbow-colored one, so, we take a closer look at two Merlion Funko Pops in our video. The very first Merlion Pop is white with a blue base that looks like water. The newest one is a Simply toys exclusive. This one is also white but in matte form. It also has a blue base that is darker in color and is smaller than the first one. Another difference is that the newer one has blue translucent water is coming out of its mouth. Both Pops look good nonetheless. Take a look at which version you like more in the video below.
